Cross Walter Isaacson Off the List of Potential Newsweek Editors

Well, that was quick.

Very soon after the New York Post‘s Keith Kelly mooted him as a potential replacement for outgoing editor Jon Meacham, former Time editor Walter Isaacson has eliminated himself from contention.

The Aspen Daily News reports that Isaacson has “ruled out the job’:

“I’ve already edited a news magazine,” he said.

Isaacson is a close friend of Sidney Harman, who on Monday inked a deal with Newsweek parent The Washington Post that certified him as the magazine’s new owner.
