It was only four months ago that Hearst scooped one of Time Inc.’s magazine execs to work on its Country Living title. Chris Allen was formerly the senior vice president of Cooking Light before he jumped companies in September to become Living‘s publisher.
Now Hearst has made the same move again, by giving former Cooking Light associate publisher Kassie Means the same role over at Country Living. Considering last year’s major cuts across Time Inc., we’re happy to see that some media executives can still find work elsewhere.

KASSIE MEANS NAMED ASSOCIATE PUBLISHER OF COUNTRY LIVING MAGAZINE
NEW YORK, January 7, 2010 – Kassie Means has been named associate publisher of Country Living magazine, it was announced today by Chris Allen, the magazine’s vice president and publisher. Assuming her new role by February 1st, Means will oversee Country Living’s advertising and marketing efforts and will report directly to Allen.
Means was most recently vice president, associate publisher at Cooking Light, a position she held since 2003. From 1996-2003, she was an account manager, then Eastern sales development director at Cooking Light. Prior to that, Means was an advertising representative at Southern Living. She began her advertising sales career at Scholastic and YM. Before that, Means was in the media planning group at Lintas and at DMB&B, where she worked on the Kraft business.
“Kassie is a talented sales and marketing professional with an incredible track record,” Allen said. “An inspired leader and a creative thinker, she will be a key player as we continue to move the Country Living brand forward in 2010.”
