CNBC Hires New California Bureau Chief

There are two distinct phases to the career of Paul McNamara, the newly appointed California bureau chief of CNBC.

After graduating from Boston College in 1994 with a B.A. in English, he worked in advertising as a sales assistant and account executive for four different companies, dealing with clients such as McDonald’s, Sam Adams, and GE. But he then wisely made the decision to return to school, earning his master’s in journalism from Boston University in 2000-01.

From that point on, it was a different story.
