Carol Loomis Named to NY Journalism Hall of Fame

Carol Loomis, Fortune’s senior editor-at-large, has been inducted into the Deadline Club’s New York Journalism Hall of Fame. The 84-year-old Loomis was one of eight honored during a lunch at Sardi’s.

Loomis, who started at Fortune 60 years ago, was one of the first prominent female financial journalists. In her acceptance speech, she joked, “I will confess that almost all my inspiration has come from one emotion, fear. And terrible dread of the moment when I will finally be exposed as a fraud.”
