Cablevision COO Rutledge Resigns Unexpectedly
Multiple reports today say Cablevision Operation Officer Tom Rutledge is stepping down from his post. He’ll leave the Bethpage, New York-based company, effective December 19, according to a regulatory filing. No reason was given for Rutledge’s departure.
Rutledge, 58, joined Cablevision in 2002, helping reshape the regional cable giant since becoming COO in 2004.
According to a Cablevision statement, the company is seeking a successor to oversee its cable operations.
Under Rutledge’s watch, Cablevision focused its attention on the cable entity, after it spun off Madison Square Garden Company and AMC Networks Inc.
