Cablevision vs. News Corp., Day 12: The Battle Rages On With No End In Sight
Earlier today Cablevision released a statement in which they announced an offer to pay News Corp. the same price as Time Warner for the broadcast rights to WNYW/Fox 5 New York and WTXF/ Fox 29 (Philadelphia). News Corp.’s response? Flat out rejection.
Needless to say, team Cablevision was less than thrilled at the snapping of their provider-to-programmer olive branch. The following two statements offer a concise look at Cablevision’s emotional roller coaster ride – one that spanned from a hopeful Wednesday afternoon into a bitter, dejected evening:
“In the interest of Cablevision’s 3 million households and our mutual viewers, today we have made a new offer to News Corp.
