BuzzFeed Names Political Editor
McKay Coppins has been promoted from political reporter to political editor of BuzzFeed. During the past presidential election, Coppins guided the site’s coverage of Mitt Romney.
“McKay was one of the breakout political reporters this cycle and is primed to run one of the best politics teams out there,” said Ben Smith, editor-in-chief of BuzzFeed, in a statement. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to have him as our political editor.”
Coppins will work work closely with Smith on the site’s political coverage.
