Brides magazine has a new look — it’s larger and has an updated logo — but the biggest changes implemented by Anne Fulenwide, its Editor-in-Chief, will be found on the inside. Fulenwide has dedicated herself to changing the title since taking over, and for better or worse, she’s achieved that, because Brides is now taking the general interest route.
There are now pieces on travel, the fashion industry and other articles intended to attract new readers. It’s not strictly wedding, wedding, wedding anymore. “When I was at Marie Claire, we would talk about how to get the guy,” Fulenwide told WWD. “Well, now you got the guy and we have this whole new space to write about firsts. How to throw that first dinner party, the first Thanksgiving. We’re going to address this first stage of their new life.”
Blurring the magazine’s focus is a risky strategy, but time will tell if it pays off for Fulenwide. For now, just enjoy the new — and quite crazy — lowercase title logo.
