Islands Magazine Going Digital-Only

November-December issue will be the last.

Once upon a time, exotic vacation travel was synonymous with postcards and rolls of camera film. These days, it’s aligned with the likes of Facebook, Instagram and Airbnb.

As part of that general trend, Bonnier has decided to shut down the print side of Islands magazine and a couple of smaller related publications. Final issues will roll out for November-December. Keith J. Kelly has the details:

The magazines were being run on a shoestring budget under editorial director Shawn Bean — who heads all the outdoor magazines that operate out of Bonnier’s Winter Park, Fla.,
