Bloomberg Reassigns 'General News' Reporters

Bloomberg has gotten rid of a team of reporters called the “World News Team” — in name only.

On Christmas, a report surfaced that the news organization had scrapped the non-business news focused team in favor of a more business-heavy angle. The fate of the team’s 22 reporters seemed up in the air.

But this morning, a Bloomberg spokesperson told FishbowlNY that the only thing that has disappeared from the “World News Team” is its name. The reporters, and their functions, will remain, although they have been reassigned to other teams, including the “Government Team,” which also covers non-business news.
