Bangor Daily News Loses 22 To Buyouts

The Bangor Daily News in Maine had asked for 30 people to leave, and 22 accepted, according to Al Diamon of DownEast. Among the newsroom employees heading out:
outdoor editor Jeff Strout, reporters Diana Bowley and Sharon Kiley Mack, health editor Meg Haskell (who last year was named Journalist of the Year in Maine), columnist Joni Averill, digital editor Joel Crabtree and assignment editor Roxanne Saucier. (Here’s Averill’s farewell column.)

Two library employees will also be leaving, says Diamon.
