Artist Reflects on a Year's Worth of LA Times Portraits

This past New Year’s Eve, LA artist Erik Shveima completed his aptly named Mixed Media Daily project. For the entire span of 2011, he drew his own version of each day’s LA Times front page.

Halfway through these drawings last July, Shveima checked in with the paper’s “Reader’s Representative Journal.” Now, with his idiosyncratic efforts complete, it’s time for some final, first-person thoughts:

I still read the paper every day, only now the paper looks different to me.
