AP Doesn't Get AD

Okay, so it’s not exactly Judith Miller and WMD, but today, the Associated Press gets fooled by the fake next-episode teases which have ended the show ‘Arrested Development’ throughout its two seasons. From a piece by Lynn Elber, who covers the TV beat for the service:

Sunday’s half-hour ended with scenes from the next episode, the one that would open the fall season. Devotees can only hope the optimism isn’t misguided.

I wouldn’t harp on this if it was just some freelancer, but even if Elber doesn’t happen to watch the show regularly, shouldn’t a reporter who’s been covering entertainment for the AP since 1992 know that TV shows don’t start shooting– or writing– their next season until they get picked up?
