Greg Osberg, president and publisher of Newsweek, will leave the magazine and its parent company, the Washington Post Company, Folio: reports. He’ll stay until early fall. A successor has not been named.
Osberg who left Newsweek once before, jumping to CNET in 1997 before returning in 2000 will likely return to digital media. “I’ve made it no secret that I have a passion for the digital space,” he told Folio:. “I’ve always wanted to return there.”
Newsweek‘s spokesman would not confirm Osberg’s departure.
The magazine’s current editor, Jon Meacham, is an early candidate for Osberg’s position.
