Animation Master Joseph Barbera Dead at 95

Toon Town is reeling after the death yesterday of Joseph Barbera, one-half the animation powerhouse Hanna-Barbera, and creator of pretty much every cartoon you watched wide-eyed in footie pajamas while a bowl of Cheerios sat congealing beside you. Barbera is survived by the Flintstone, Rubble and Jetson families, Tom, Jerry, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Papa Smurf, Smurfette and the entire Smurf village, Gargamel, Azrael, Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, Scooby-Doo (and Scrappy, too), Jonny Quest, Space Ghost, Zorak, Moltar, Brak, and many, many more.
