America's Apathy Towards Newspapers

The Pew Research Center brings us disspiriting news of the public’s attitude towards newspapers. According to a report released today:

[F]ewer than half of Americans (43%) say that losing their local newspaper would hurt civic life in their community “a lot.” Even fewer (33%) say they would personally miss reading the local newspaper a lot if it were no longer available.

You don’t know what you got till it’s gone, people.

Who won’t miss us? Seems young people are the problem.

Less than a quarter of those younger than age 40 (23%) say they would miss the local newspaper they read most often a lot if it were to go out of business or shut down.
