American Idol Back on Top as Weekly Ratings Winner
As American Idol began to trim the field before unveiling its Top 24 singers tonight, the show held the top two positions for the week.
Hollywood Week gave way to a Las Vegas trip, as fans tuned in on WNYW/Channel 5.
The Wednesday night telecast was number one, according to Nielsen, with an estimated 1.4 million viewers and a 7.2 rating. The next night, Idol took second with 1.1 million viewers and a 5.8 rating. Incidentally, with the Idol lead-in at its side, the Fox 5 News at 10 had a strong night at number 24 (610,000/3.1).
NBC continues to get big numbers still season from The Voice.
