CNN’s Wolf Blitzer is flying solo on his trip to North Korea this week. FishbowlDC has learned that Blitzer’s producer is not traveling with him and that he’s going there on his own. Blitzer plans to meet up with New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson for a four-day trip.
Blitzer remarked online on CNN’s politicalticker blog, “I am traveling with him covering his four day private visit to North Korea. I’ve been to China and South Korea – including the DMZ – but never to North Korea and am looking forward to seeing it.”
Online remarks can be brutish. One reader wrote, “With a name like Wolf Blitzer, the Nor Kor’s will probably eat him for the state dinner.” Still another recalled Blitzer’s less than perfect performance on “Jeopardy!” in 2009 saying, “The North Koreans haven’t had much to laugh about for a while. I think somebody should send them a copy of Blitzer’s performance on Jeopardy a couple of years ago when he was actually NEGATIVE prize money at the end of the show. That will give them to giggle about.”
On Wednesday Blitzer reported from Bejing. Coming up he’ll cover Richardson’s trip to North Korea.
