Former Deputy Assistant Press Secretary to Pres. George Bush, Pete Seat, who spent his time in the White House corralling the media, is now trying his hand on our side.
Seat now has a column his local newspaper, the Northwest Indiana and Illinois Times that will run every other Thursday.
His first column “Remembering 43: The Trailblazer” tackles a question posed by Stephen Colbert, “Is George W. Bush a great president or the greatest president?”
Whether in the Oval Office, aboard Air Force One or at the president’s Crawford, Texas, ranch, I saw a man that embodied his Secret Service code name, Trailblazer. He tackled the biggest issues of the day, without regard for how it would shape popularity polls. He was a man not burdened by his position, but an ordinary man, with an extraordinary job, focused on doing what was best for our country.
You can read the rest of his column here.
In the next couple of weeks, FishbowlDC will catch up with members of Pres. Bush’s press office, as well as staffers from Sen. McCain’s and other Republicans campaigns.
