Solomon details some key changes, including new gigs for Joseph Curl (reported yesterday by FishbowlDC), Chris Dolan, Stephen Dinan, Christina Bellantoni, Jon Ward, David Sands, S.A. Miller, Kara Rowland, Sean Lengell and Tom LoBianco. The transition period is an essential time for us to "source up" and be prepared for a new government come January. We're committed to providing our readers -- and our new wire service clients -- the broadest, fastest and most original report from the nation's capital each day, and that means putting substantial new resources into our coverage of both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue. And so I'm please to announce that our coverage will be supervised by our newest Assistant Managing Editor, Chris Dolan, who is stepping up from the deputy's role after skillfully directing our campaign coverage. We've asked Stephen Dinan to serve as our White House bureau chief, leading a team that also includes Christina Bellantoni and Jon Ward. And on Capitol Hill, we've asked David Sands to be our Congressional Bureau Chief and lead a team that includes both S.A. Miller and Kara Rowland. Joe Curl is taking on the new assignment of senior national political correspondent, where he'll lead our coverage of everything from Sarah Palin's next steps and redistricting to the realignment of voters blocs in the 2010 and 2012 elections. We're also asking Joe to craft a new column designed to peer deeply into the political process from some unique vantage points. In anticipation of two of the biggest policy challenges next year we also are assigning two new beat reporters who will work in the seams between Congress and the White House to break stories. Sean Lengell will be our new health care policy writer while Tom LoBianco will be moving downtown from Annapolis to tackle the issues of energy and the environment. Over the next few weeks we'll have a few more announcements as we put the finishing touches on our newsroom for 2009 and beyond.
