The Washington Post’s Arc platform has another new partner in the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, which debuted a new website today running on Arc. Today’s launch is the first phase of the website, which the school’s student journalists will continue to develop in the coming weeks.

“The Washington Post partnership offered our faculty and students a one-of-a kind opportunity to collaborate on a new media platform with their world class tech team, which is so clearly committed to empowering the next generation of journalists,” said USC Annenberg School of Journalism director Willow Bay in a statement.

Universities have played an important part in the development of the Post’s in-house created publishing system, which also powers the Washington Post website. WaPo’s initial university partners provided the publication with the feedback and real-life user experience it needed to create a product intended not only for the Post newsroom but one that would appeal to an outside customer base of publications willing to pay and adapt the system for their own newsroom’s needs.
