Spotted: Rep. Mark Takano at Dupont Bar

Who says lawmakers can’t have fun during the grueling work week? Rep. Mark Takano, an openly gay Democratic congressman representing Riverside, Calif., was spotted at JR’s Bar & Grill Monday night, which happened to be “Showtunes Night.” JR’s is a well-known gay bar on 17th Street in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington. The congressman did not sing. He was not holding a drink, though he was seen buying one for a 20-something guy. He stood around until 12:45 a.m.
