In the world of online reporting, life can get dicey and connecting with followers can lurk into dangerous, pornographic territory. In 2010, National Journal‘s Major Garrett, then a White House Correspondent for Fox News, accidentally linked to soft porn. “Hello gentleman, I’m Anastasia,” one woman beckoned. Naturally mortified, he apologized to his many followers.
This week NPR White House Correspondent Ari Shapiro suffered a similar fate when a follower informed him that he had been spamming him with advice on how to expand his member (and we’re not talking politicians).
