Smithsonian Offers Quick Peek

In a new weekly feature, Smithsonian’s press room website is offering a different snapshot each week.  It’s a glimpse into the Smithsonian’s collection.

Today it’s Pablo Picasso‘s handwritten list from 1912.

More details after the jump…

From Smithsonian: “In 1912, Picasso jotted down his recommended European artists for the 1913 Armory Show, the first international exhibition of modern art in the United States. With phonetic spelling, Picasso recommends Marcel Duchamp, Fernand Léger and Juan Gris, among others for the show – below is that list, written in graphite on a scrap of paper.”
