Senator Won't Skimp on White Sneaks, Poetic Words

Former Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.), a politician who may have his skull split into the widest left-hand sided part we’ve ever seen, is the victim subject of Politico Patrick Gavin’s “Answer This” interview that published late last night.

A few things that jumped out at us: Dorgan does not go cheap on white tennis shoes or brown licorice, nor does he go all “Roses are Red, Violets are Blue” about his late mother.

An excerpt:

“No haiku … but to my late mother who remains every day in my heart … the words of Thomas Moore, ‘Long, long be my heart with such memories filled, Like the vase in which roses have once been distilled, You may break, you may shatter the vase if you will, But the scent of the roses will hang round it still.’
