Saturday Screening: NatSec Whistleblower Doc Silenced

Uncovering the post-9/11 NatSec landscape.

When Citizenfour won the Oscar for best documentary earlier in the year, it created an opening to mainstream the important but oft-inscrutable nexus of national security, secrecy and mass surveillance.

James Spione-directed doc Silenced adds to these issues the voices of former government insiders and whistleblowers  Jesselyn Radack, Thomas Drake and John Kiriakou as it tells the story of the increasingly paranoid post-9/11 security landscape.

The Institute for Policy Studies, in conjunction with Naked Edge Films, CodePink and the Government Accountability Project, will present a screening of Silenced at the Goethe Institut this Saturday, April 11 at 3 p.m.,
