The Bon Appétit staff, after venturing out and tasting offerings in the realms outside of their New York City home base (as well as within), have decided.

“There’s an energy and excitement surrounding all the new places that is palpable. D.C. is bubbling with momentum,” writes deputy editor Andrew Knowlton about the state of D.C.’s restaurant scene. There’s enough excitement, in fact, for the the magazine to name D.C. its restaurant city of the year.
