Prison Bars Inmate from Reading The Atlantic

It’s official. We’ve finally heard everything.

A female prisoner in Chowchilla, Calif. serving time for a second degree murder has been forbidden from reading the December 11 issue of The Atlantic. Jeffrey Goldberg posted the news on the publication’s blog Monday.

The reason for disallowing the prisoner from reading the magazine? The cover (at right) has a picture of a member of the Taliban with a rifle.

The Atlantic‘s Goldberg appealed the prison’s decision by writing to the warden.
