President Obama Subs In For Colbert

Amid a flurry of talk show appearances, President Barack Obama took some time to show off his more comedic side with everyone’s favorite satirist, Stephen Colbert.

During the taping of “The Colbert Report” at GW’s Lisner Auditorium yesterday evening, the President hijacked Colbert’s desk and persona to do his segment “The Word.” Jokingly rebranding it “The Decree” to make it sound more presidential, the President assumed the role of Stephen Colbert, the ultra-right wing pundit, while taking a jab at his friends at Fox News.

Discussing ways to convince young people to sign up for healthcare, the President said of himself in the third person, “he could try to appeal to them directly through a speech or press conference, but young people don’t watch real news shows like this one,” as the phrase “Or Fakes Ones Like Fox” appeared next to him.
