A video posted to The White House YouTube channel today highlights four Kansas City residents set to dine with President Barack Obama this evening.
“The President loves getting 10 letters a night, that he reads every night, where he can hear from everyday Americans about how they’re affected by the policies that he’s fighting to implement here in Washington,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest says in the video. “The president’s been traveling across the country meeting with these individual people who’ve written him letters. He’s gonna do the same thing in Kansas City.”
The video continues with Earnest calling individuals – including Becky, Victor, and Valerie – who have written to Obama letting them know that they’re invited to dine with the president.
“Would you be willing to have dinner with the President on Tuesday night,” asks Earnest, to which one woman replied, “Ohh yes, yes…That sounds like a blast.”
ABC News reports that the President will dine with “a man who thanked Obama for student loan help he received, a single mother who described her challenges raising children and running a business, a teacher in a GED program and a woman who is active in her neighborhood association.”
