Portfolio Teams Up With washingtonpost.com

It might have gotten lost in all the debate over the actual magazine, but Portfolio also has a Web component, and to drive more eyeballs onto portfolio.com, the site is in deal mode — with other publications. The Web site has formed a partnership with washingtonpost.com that will provide content for the Post’s new Business Travel section, targeted at frequent flyers. Ari Brandt, general manager, digital media at Portfolio, said there are three reasons to make this type of deal: increasing brand awareness, helping along its “organic searches” and growing referrals.
