Politics and Prose to Host National Ambassador of Young People's Literature

Yeah, that’s a real title -conveyed upon one lucky somebody by the Library of Congress every year two years. This year that lucky somebody is Kate DiCamillo, Newberry Award winning author of “Because of Winn-Dixie.” The Ambassador’s role is to “raise national awareness of the importance of young people’s literature as it relates to lifelong literacy, education and the development and betterment of the lives of young people.” And for the fourth year in a row, Politics and Prose will be one of the first venues in the country to host the Ambassador as she makes her away across the nation, planting book-seeds in the brains of children and encouraging them not to play video games and what not.

If you’re off work in the middle of the day / unemployed next Thursday, you might wanna stop by the store and have a listen.
