Politico‘s Mike Allen made the MSNBC “Morning Joe” crew erupt into laughter this morning as he recalled his days as a Boy Scout.
The nearly all-male panel, consisting of New York Magazine‘s John Heilemann, Willie Geist, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinksi, began discussing a story from the San Francisco Examiner about an 18 -foot sea creature found off the California coast.
Just when they were moving onto the next topic, Allen piped up and said…
“Catalina Island was where I went to Boy Scout camp and we were excited to see [appleoading….]”
The admission, whatever that last word was, made the men, especially Scarborough, howl with laughter. We asked Allen what that last word was considering it was difficult to comprehend in the first seven times we listened. We think it must be some kind of gigantic fish. So far, he has not responded.
Minutes later, Scarborough seemed to regain his composure and said he’d never been to Catalina Island. “You go in on a sea plane,” Allen continued. “It’s a great place.”
Somehow it’s just not that hard to imagine Allen as a Boy Scout.
