Politico brought on three new staff members who will be part of a new data and data visualization venture for Politico Pro, reported Mike Allen and Daniel Lippman in Playbook this morning.

Todd Lindeman will lead the effort as director of graphics and data visualization. His hire was announced by Politico back in February, concurrent with the announcement of the project itself, which Politico calls a “data visualization resource.” He previous worked as the graphics editor at The Washington Post.

The work of the team will initially center around energy, health care and tech, and will debut in the spring. Details about Lindeman’s new team members below:

  • Patterson Clark is senior graphics editor. Clark also comes over from the Washington Post, where he was an illustrator and science graphics editor.
  • Janie Boschma is data editor. She was a senior associate editor at The Atlantic, working on the Next America project.
  • Tucker Doherty joins as a data reporter. Most recently, he had been a data visualization associate at National Journal.
