I’m delighted to announce that Petula Dvorak is our new Metro columnist. Petula has a delightful writing touch, a great perspective on Washington and a strong desire to create a new voice for Washington Post Media. We are asking her to explore nothing less than a re-invention of the traditional column form: How does a general-interest columnist succeed in a niche-topic world? What new platforms are best suited to local criticism? How do you build a loyal community of readers when your topics are diverse? Petula might have the most diverse resume in the place.
