NPR Promises More Diversity on Top Programming

NPR previously announced it’d be winding down its daily newsmagazine directed at African Americans, “News And Notes,” but despite this transition NPR’s CEO Vivian Schiller says the network will “keep trying until we get it right.”

Speaking at the National Press Club this week, Schiller says NPR needs to do a better job reflecting “the full spectrum of… our potential listenership” in its most popular programs, “Morning Edition” and “All Things Considered.”

“Have we done a good enough job? No, we have not, but we are going to keep trying until we get it right,” she says.
