Newseum's Top 10 List of Front Pages a Reminder of a Dark 2015

As if we can forget.

For Sharon Shahid, the common thread in the list of Newseum‘s most notable newspaper front pages of the year was they embodied the idea of 2015 as “the year the press wore its heart on its sleeve — or at least aired its opinions on Page One.”

But looking through the list, we remember that what compelled so much emotive display was a seemingly endless collection of tragedies, both national and international. And rather than singular, never-to-be-seen-again phenomena, the events and what they represent, from Charleston to Syria to San Bernardino, will require deep cultural, political and humanitarian remedies.
