A new piece of history is slated to arrive and be on display as of this Friday, August 22, at the Newseum – Pharrell Williams’ Mountain hat.
The most appropriate of times for a h/t, The Washington Post reports that the Vivienne Westwood hat he donned at the 2014 Grammy Awards was purchased by Arby’s from Williams for $44,100 – then donated to charity – and will be on display in the news museum through October 26 of this year. Drawing similarities to its logo, Arby’s tweeted to the “Happy” artist after its appearance at the Grammys, “Hey @Pharrell, can we have our hat back?”
SVP of Newseum marketing Scott Williams told the Post, “Pharrell’s hat is a great addition to the Newseum and will serve as a great example of the impact of social media today.”
