NBC's Andrea Mitchell on Making Her Career
NBC’s Andrea Mitchell recently sat down with Washingtonian magazine to discuss the start and growth of her career and the personal toll of emotional stories.
Mitchell, who was pursuing a degree in English at the University of Pennsylvania where she was also a violinist, covered politics for campus radio and went on to intern at a local NBC affiliate.
“I was swept up in civil rights, the Vietnam War,” she says in the magazine’s June issue. “It was a great time to be a budding journalist.”
