NBC's Andrea Mitchell on Making Her Career

Andrea_Mitchell_Twitter_profile_headshotNBC’s Andrea Mitchell recently sat down with Washingtonian magazine to discuss the start and growth of her career and the personal toll of emotional stories.

Mitchell, who was pursuing a degree in English at the University of Pennsylvania where she was also a violinist, covered politics for campus radio and went on to intern at a local NBC affiliate.

“I was swept up in civil rights, the Vietnam War,” she says in the magazine’s June issue. “It was a great time to be a budding journalist.”
