Morning Blunder
In a WaPo “Reliable Sources” item in early November, the gossip gals got their wires tangled between basketball and baseball. No doubt, an unintentional oversight as most errors are.
The correction: “A Reliable Source item in the Nov. 8 Style section, about the “gift vault” where the State Department stores presents to be given to foreign dignitaries, referred to a baseball bat autographed by the New York Yankees’ Derek Jeter as a basketball bat.”
What’s bizarre: The correction surfaced late last week.
