More than $850,000 Earned Inside the Beltway by Knight News Challenge Recipients
On Monday, the Knight Foundation announced the recipients of the Knight News Challenge, several of whom are located inside the Beltway. In total, the foundation – in partnership with the Ford Foundation and Mozilla Foundation – awarded $3,466,000 to 19 winners who best answered ‘How to strengthen the internet for free expression and innovation?’
Winning themes fell into three categories, including Access, Transparency, and Safety. In the category of Transparency, the New America Foundation was the recipient of two awards valued $350,000 and $300,000.
