We wrote earlier in the week that Politico labor reporter Mike Elk‘s name had been removed from the masthead, giving rise to speculation he was no longer working there, although neither Elk nor Politico confirmed that fact, until today.
HuffPost’s Michael Calderone reports that Politico confirmed Elk is no longer there. In a statement, Politico did not go into specifics, other than to deny that Elk’s efforts to unionize the newsroom was the reason for his departure, adding that “employees have been, and continue to be, free to engage in or refrain from union activities.”
