Marie Claire logo 2Less than two weeks after Cosmopolitan announced that it had hired Jill Filipovic to cover the hard news beat, Marie Claire today announced that Audrey Gelman, a political and media relations strategist at SKDKnickerbocker, has joined on as a contributing editor. In this role, Gelman will “consult on story ideas, provide insight on trends and women to watch, and write for the magazine.”

Marie Claire confirmed that the focus of Gelman’s work, who has also served as Deputy Director of Communications and Press Secretary to New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer, “will include—but not be limited to—the political realm.”
