CBS Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett, of “shirty” fame, will participate in the National Press Club’s upcoming spelling bee against members of Congress. Asked about his confidence in his spelling capabilities, he told FishbowlDC that he has an unique tactic he plans to employ.
“I am not remotely confident in my abilities and I intend to invoke the Don Rickles method during the competition,” said Garrett. “On the Carson show, Johnny once asked Rickles if he could spell Chihuahua.
