Katie Couric Invites D.C. Beauty Queen on Show
ABC’s Katie has an interesting guest this afternoon that hits close to home. It’s Miss America contestant Allyn Rose, who’s repping D.C. in the upcoming pageant. Rose, a resident of Newburg, Md., is igniting controversy over her decision to have a preventive double mastectomy and the backlash has apparently been rough.
“WHEN THEY SAY THOSE HURTFUL THINGS, I DON’T HAVE A MOM TO CALL,” she says. “I DON’T HAVE A MOM TO TELL ME THAT…I’M DOING THE RIGHT THING.
