I’m very happy to report that Marty Kady is coming to my rescue as Deputy Congress Editor. Marty has distinguished himself as a maestro of breaking news, most recently when I bailed out at the end of the bailout and again when Ted Stevens was convicted next week. In his new role, he’ll be able to play to those strengths on a regular basis — focusing hard on our Congressional web coverage, taking on a healthy share of the Huddle, helping out with paper stories and running the whole Congress show when I’m off the grid.

He starts right away, and we hope to have news of his replacement in the reporting corps very soon.
