On Monday a number of journos around town will slack off and head to the golf course to help ensure the survival of a school. A few lawmakers (Reps. Mike Simpson (R-Idaho) and Tom Latham (R-Iowa) are scheduled to play.)
Cornerstone School is a private school in NE D.C. run by Clay Hanna, younger brother to Autumn Hanna VandeHei (wife of Politico’s Executive Editor Jim VandeHei, a volunteer). Most students who attend the school are there on scholarship. Politco‘s Mike Allen is said to be a faithful volunteer. Susanna Quinn will co-chair the event with Autumn V. Susanna will attend the event with her husband, Jack Quinn (of Quinn Gillespie & Associates); both plan to play for the cause. (Shockingly, House Minority leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), a golfing fiend, will not be there to work on his infamous tan.)
