Journo Professors Score 'Summer Internships' at USA Today, WaPo

Jerry Bembry, a journalism professor at Morgan State University in Baltimore, and Yolanda McCutchen a journo professor from Howard University have been named “Back in the Newsroom” fellows at USA Today and WaPo, respectively. The fellowships start this summer.

The fellowships are designed to be a sort of “summer internship” for professors, and are part of a larger program run by the International Center for Journalists that seeks to help journalism educators from historically black colleges and universities see firsthand the new skills needed for students to succeed in today’s newsrooms.
