Job Cuts At the Newseum

For the second time in about six months, the Newseum was forced to make 13 job cuts last week due to declining revenue in the Freedom Forum endowment from about $600 to $400 million.

Combined with previous cuts last November, the staff has been reduced by 31 positions now. But WTOP reports Newseum spokeswoman Susan Bennett does not anticipate any more cuts this year and that the jobs cut would not affect programming or the education staff– they mostly “behind the scenes” jobs, like administration staff.
